Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the dawn, 1 and ten nights, 2 by the odd and even (8th and 9th Dhil-hajj) 3 And by oath of the night when it recedes 4 Is there in that an oath for the mindful? 5 Dost thou not consider how thy Lord dealt with (the tribe of) A'ad, 6 With many-columned Iram, 7 Like whom no one else was born in the cities. 8 and with the Thamud, who cut out [huge] rocks in the valley, 9 And (with) Firon, the lord of hosts, 10 who transgressed in the countries of the world 11 and brought about great corruption therein: 12 Therefore did thy Lord pour on them a scourge of diverse chastisements: 13 For thy Lord is (as a Guardian) on a watch-tower. 14 Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), "My Lord hath honoured me." 15 But when He trieth him, restricting his subsistence for him, then saith he (in despair), "My Lord hath humiliated me!" 16 No indeed; but you honour not the orphan, 17 Nor urge upon each other the feeding of the poor, 18 Why do you take away the inheritance of others indiscriminately 19 And you love wealth with exceeding love. 20 Nay! when the earth is made to crumble to pieces, 21 And thy Lord shall come and the angels, rank on rank. 22 And the Hell on that Day shall be brought nigh. On that Day man shall remember, but how will remembrance avail him? 23 He will say: “Would that I had sent ahead what would be of avail for this life of mine!” 24 Wherefore on that Day none shall torment with His torment. 25 And no one shall bind with (anything like) His binding. 26 O satisfied soul, 27 Return to your Lord, well-pleased and well-pleasing Him. 28 Join My servants. 29 And enter thou My Garden. 30
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
