The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sun and its brightness 1 And the moon as she follows in his wake, 2 by the day when it brightens the earth, 3 and by the night when it enshrouds him! 4 and by the sky and by Him Who made it; 5 By the Earth and its (wide) expanse: 6 By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it; 7 then inspired it to understand what was right and wrong for it. 8 those who purify their souls will certainly have everlasting happiness 9 And he fails that corrupts it! 10 The people of Thamud rejected (the truth) as a result of their rebelliousness 11 Behold, the most wicked man among them was deputed (for impiety). 12 Then Allah's Messenger warned them: “Hands off the she-camel and her drink!” 13 Then they belied him and they hamstrung her; wherefore their Lord overwhelmed them for their crime, and made it equal. 14 He dreadeth not the sequel (of events). 15
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
