Al-Shams

The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

By the sun and its heat and brightness, 1 And the moon as she follows in his wake, 2 and by the day as it displays the sun's glory, 3 The night when it covers him over, 4 And by the heaven and Him Who built it; 5 By the earth and Him Who spread it forth, 6 By the soul and Him Who propertioned it, 7 And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;- 8 Surely blissful is he who hath cleansed it, 9 And miserable is he who hath buried it. 10 The Thamud tribe rejected the truth because of their arrogance, 11 When the most wicked among them stood up in defiance. 12 But the Messenger of Allah [Salih (Saleh)] said to them: "Be cautious! Fear the evil end. That is the she-camel of Allah! (Do not harm it) and bar it not from having its drink!" 13 But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them]. 14 And He (Allah) feared not the consequences thereof. 15

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
