The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER the sun and its radiant brightness, 1 And the moon when she followeth him, 2 and by the day when it displays him 3 and by the night when it enshrouds him! 4 And the heaven and Him Who made it, 5 And [by] the earth and He who spread it 6 The soul and how it was integrated 7 and imbued it with (the consciousness of) its evil and its piety: 8 Indeed successful is the one who made it pure. 9 And indeed failed is the one who covered it in sin. 10 Thamood cried lies in their insolence 11 When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with 12 But the Messenger of Allah said to them: "It is a She-camel of Allah! And (bar her not from) having her drink!" 13 But they cried him lies, and hamstrung her, so their Lord crushed them for their sin, and leveled them: 14 And He does not fear the consequence thereof. 15
Almighty God's Truth.
