The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sun and its noon-time brightness, 1 By the Moon as she follows him; 2 and by the day as it reveals its glory 3 By the Night as it conceals it; 4 By the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure; 5 And [by] the earth and He who spread it 6 And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, 7 and inspired it to lewdness and godfearing! 8 prosperous is he who purified it, 9 and truly lost is he who buries it [in darkness]. 10 The people of Thamud rejected (the truth) as a result of their rebelliousness 11 When the most wretched of them was sent forth. 12 then the Messenger of God said to them, 'The She-camel of God; let her drink!' 13 But they gave him the lie, and cruelly slaughtered her - whereupon their Sustainer visited them with utter destruction for this their sin, destroying them all alike: 14 He does not fear the result (of their destruction). 15
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
