The Night (Al-Layl)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and the day in splendour 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 They do not expect any reward 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
