The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
