The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
