The Night (Al-Layl)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
