The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 and the day in splendour 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And rejects the best, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
