The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
