Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night as it envelops; 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 They do not expect any reward 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
