The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 and, behold, Ours is [the dominion over] the life to come as well as [over] this earlier part [of your life]: 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
