The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
