Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
