Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
