The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And rejects the best, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
