The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and the day in splendour 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 He verily will be content. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
