The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
