The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the morning brightness, 1 And by oath of the night when it covers, 2 (O Prophet), your Lord has neither forsaken you, nor is He displeased. 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance. 7 And find you in want and make you to be free from want? 8 So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]. 9 Therefor the beggar drive not away, 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
