The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 and by the night when it darkens, 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 and the Last shall be better for thee than the First. 4 And presently thy Lord shall give unto thee so that thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 Did He not find thee needy, and suffice thee? 8 Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him). 9 Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard); 10 And as for the favor of your Lord, do announce (it). 11
