The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the morning brightness 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 The reward in the next life will certainly be better for you than worldly gains. 4 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 And He found you unaware (of the Quran, its legal laws, and Prophethood, etc.) and guided you? 7 And He found thee destitute, so He enriched thee. 8 Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan; 9 And as to the beggar, chide thou him not. 10 But tell of the favors of your Lord! 11
