Al-Duhaa
The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of the late morning, 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you nor does He dislike you! 3 The reward in the next life will certainly be better for you than worldly gains. 4 And presently thy Lord shall give unto thee so that thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and then gave you shelter? 6 And He found you unaware (of the Quran, its legal laws, and Prophethood, etc.) and guided you? 7 And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient. 8 Do not oppress the orphans 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
