The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 and by the night when it covers, 2 (Muhammad), your Lord has not abandoned you (by not sending you His revelation), nor is He displeased with you. 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 Did He not find thee needy, and suffice thee? 8 Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan; 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]. 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
