Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Your Lord (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) has neither forsaken you nor hated you. 3 And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. 4 soon you will be gratified with what your Lord will give you. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 and do not reject the beggars 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
