The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the morning hours 1 and the brooding night! 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 Indeed what is to come will be better for you than what has gone by. 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find thee an orphan, and shelter thee? 6 Did He not find thee erring, and guide thee? 7 Did He not find thee needy, and suffice thee? 8 As for the orphan, do not oppress him, 9 And repulse not the beggar; 10 but proclaim the blessings of your Lord. 11
