The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the glorious morning light; 1 and by the calm of night, 2 Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) an orphan and gave you a refuge? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Wherefore as to the orphan, be thou not unto him overbearing. 9 nor drive away the one who asks. 10 But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]. 11
