The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 And the night when dark and still, 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased, 3 and the Last shall be better for thee than the First. 4 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 And found you in need, so made you prosperous? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, 9 Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard); 10 Therefor of the bounty of thy Lord be thy discourse. 11
