Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa) before The Afternoon (Al-'Asr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ (O Prophet), Did We not lay open your breast 1 And relieve you of the burden – 2 Which weighed down thy back; 3 and granted you an exalted reputation? 4 So indeed with hardship is ease. 5 Verily, with the hardship, there is relief (i.e. there is one hardship with two reliefs, so one hardship cannot overcome two reliefs). 6 When you are free from (your obligations), strive hard (to worship God) 7 and let your longing be for your Lord (in humility). 8
True are the words of God the Almighty.
