The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
