The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
