The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
