In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
