The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
