The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
