The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
