The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or orders piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
