The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We will now call the guards! 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
