The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 What is your opinion - if he were upon guidance, 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him - and prostrate, and become close to Us. Command of Prostration # 14 ۩ 19
