The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
