The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 and enjoins piety? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
