The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
