The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 or orders piety? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
