The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
