The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
