The Embryo (Al-Alaq)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
