In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
