Al-Aadeyaat

The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the (steeds) that run, with panting (breath), 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 And by oath of those who raid at dawn. 3 and leave behind a cloud of dust 4 and penetrate deep into a host. 5 VERILY, towards his Sustainer man is most ungrateful 6 And verily to that he is witness. 7 Surely, he is ardent in his love of wealth. 8 ۞ Does he not know when the contents of the graves are laid bare 9 and all that is [hidden] in men's hearts is bared 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
