Al-Aadeyaat

The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

By the snorting runners (the horses), 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 Then those that make raids at morn, 3 and blaze a trail of dust, 4 Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe), 5 The human being is certainly ungrateful to his Lord. 6 and surely he is a witness against that! 7 And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent. 8 ۞ Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad 9 And the secrets of the hearts exposed, 10 Verily, that Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) their Lord will be Well-Acquainted with them (as to their deeds), (and will reward them for their deeds). 11
