Al-Aadeyaat

The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

(I swear) by the snorting chargers (of the warriors), whose hoofs strike against the rocks 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 as they gallop to make raids at dawn, 3 Then thereby raise dust, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 VERILY, towards his Sustainer man is most ungrateful 6 And verily to that he is witness. 7 And indeed he loves wealth to the extreme. 8 ۞ Does he not then know when what is in the graves is raised, 9 and that which is in the breasts is brought out -- 10 indeed, on that Day their Lord will be aware of them! 11
