Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the horses) that charge snorting, 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 then raid by the dawn, 3 Then thereby raise dust, 4 forcing their way into the midst of the enemy, 5 That man is ungrateful to his Lord 6 To this he himself shall bear witness. 7 And indeed he is ardent for the love of good (wealth, becoming greedy). 8 ۞ Does he not then know when what is in the graves is raised, 9 And there shall be brought to light that which is in the breasts? 10 Surely, on that Day, they will know that their Lord had full knowledge of them all. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
